In my team we took some agile practice and threw out some others.
We do:
- sprints
- retrospectives
- healthchecks (from Spotify squads)
- story points, and kinda compute our velocity. Well, we approximately know how many points we can do in a sprint
- say no. We routinely refuse to do stuff coming from the top of it doesn't align with our vision as engineers
We stopped:
- daily stand-ups. They're completely useless
- poker planning. We still evaluate tasks together but without the useless ceremonial, and autonomously reevaluate during the sprint if necessary. It's considered bad, we don't care, it works.
